Privacy Policy – Paintings by Leidari Dey

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control.

  1. Information I Collect

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information, such as your name, email address, postal address, phone number, payment information, and the details of the product you’re ordering. I do not collect or use personal information for newsletters or marketing unless you explicitly consent to it.

  1. Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It

I rely on several legal bases to collect, use, and share your information, including:

As needed to provide my services, such as fulfilling your order, settling disputes, or providing customer support.

When necessary to comply with legal obligations, such as retaining purchase information for tax law.

As necessary for the purposes of my legitimate interests, if those interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as:

Providing and improving my services.

Maintaining records for accounting and legal compliance.

  1. Information Sharing and Disclosure

I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, including:

Delivery providers. I use trusted postal and courier services to deliver your orders, and I share your address and name with them as needed for fulfilment.

Accounting/statistics tools. Customer data may be stored in bookkeeping or statistical systems that comply with data protection standards.

Cloud services. Data may be stored securely on third-party services such as Google Drive (Docs, Sheets), which may be hosted outside the EU.

  1. Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and to meet legal and tax obligations. Typically:

Order-related data is stored for 6 years as required by tax and accounting laws.

If you provide consent for optional uses (e.g., marketing), this data will be kept only as long as that consent remains valid.

Please note: if you request deletion of your data, I will remove it where possible, but I may retain information required by law (e.g., invoices and order records).

  1. Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

Some personal data may be stored or processed through third-party services outside the EU (e.g., Google Cloud services). These providers follow international data protection agreements such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards.

  1. Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have several rights in relation to your personal information:

Access. You may request a copy of the information I hold about you.

Change, restrict, or delete. You may request corrections, limitations, or deletion of your data (except where I am legally required to retain it).

Object. You can object to my processing of your data in specific cases, such as marketing (though I do not currently use data for marketing).

Complain. If you have concerns, you may contact your local data protection authority.
